Job Recruitment

The Board is not recruiting at present due to the Department of Finance moratorium on public service recruitment.

Please Note:  HR in the PRTB have a policy of not accepting CVs sent to us "on spec". Instead we direct people interested in working with the PRTB to check the following sources for positions that may be advertised - the Irish Independent (Thursday), our website & www.publicjobs.ie. Jobs can be applied for when advertised and will be by way of application form (available on the website, along with Qualifications & Particulars) unless otherwise stated in the advert.

Appointments to the Adjudicator and Mediator Panels

The Board appointed a panel of Adjudicators and Mediators in December 2007 for a period of three years. In the interim it is our policy not to consider or keep on file unsolicited details of applicants.

Appointments to the Dispute Resolution Committee

Section 159 of the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 empowers the Board of the PRTB (after consultation with the Minister) to establish a Dispute Resolution Committee and to delegate functions and appoint members to that Committee. The Board appointed members to this Committee on 31 of December 2007 for a period of three years.  The Board, as a matter of course, monitors and reviews the operation of the Dispute Resolution Service, including the numbers and geographical location’s of disputes referred for resolution, and does not consider it necessary, at this time, to expand the membership of the Committee.

  Appointments to the Rent Tribunal

Rent tribunal members are appointed by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. The Minister appointed Members to the panel in July 2009 for a period of one year. Any queries on appointments to the Tribunal should be referred to the Private Housing Section, Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Custom House, Dublin 1, Tel:  01 8882000.
